The business view consists of current hot topics in the business world combined with the opinions and experience of three fabulous business women

This is an open discussions event, where our presenters welcome your questions about running, financing, growing and resourcing a small business. Come armed with yours!

Julia Bickerstaff


Julia Bickerstaff is an expert in helping small and medium sized businesses grow profitably and she is a well known business writer, speaker and advisor. In 2007 Julia founded The Business Bakery, an on-line resource for women running micro businesses, and in 2008 founded Butterfly Coaching to run workshops for small and medium sized business.Runs two businesses: Butterfly Coaching and The Business Bakery. Her first book “How to Bake a Business” is published by Allen & Unwin. Julia is a regular writer and speaker on small business matters, and is the resident finance expert for Kochie's Business Builders.

Julia was previously a partner at one of the world’s largest professional services firms, Deloitte. She is a Chartered Accountant, has a degree in economics from The London School of Economics (London University) and is Mum to three young boys.

 

Angela Vithoulkas


With a dynamic personality and strong business acumen, Angela with her business partner of 24 years, brother Con Vithoulkas took a struggling inner city cafe and turned it into the thriving VIVO Group with a string of highly successful cafes and a flourishing corporate catering arm. She is well known for her bold marketing and business decisions and is passionate about giving back to women in business.

Her passion for business and astute, audacious approach to marketing and strategy have won her numerous City of Sydney and Champion of Champion business awards. Angela was also the winner of the 2007 Telstra NSW Yellow Business Owner Award. Angela is an enthusiastic advocate for women in business and entrepreneurial owner-operators.

Charmaine Papallo

 
Charmaine developed the novel idea for babybuds when she gave birth to her daughter Olivia in 2001 and decided to create a gift with a 'wow factor', which combined the romance of flowers with the practicality of essential baby clothing, such as singlets, socks, bodysuits and jumpsuits.

Buoyed by strong early sales, in its second year babybuds experienced a 977% increase in sales and positive feedback from clients, Charmaine knew that she had launched the right product at the right time. In its infancy, babybuds sparked interest in the corporate market and today boasts an enviable list of clients including major banks, advertising agencies, law firms and accounting firms who regularly buy babybuds unique baby gift boxes.

Prior to establishing babybuds Charmaine was a corporate lawyer working for one of Australia's leading law firms. Her legal and corporate background providing a great knowledge base and launch pad into business.
